Miracle fruit seeds
Planting fruit seeds now includes planting Miracle fruit seeds. Curious? Miracle fruit seeds, synsepalum dulcificum, are seeds from the little red, tasteless West African miracle fruit, or miracle berry as it's sometimes called. The miracle happens not when you're planting fruit seeds from this fruit but when you eat it. When you eat these seeds is that everything that normally tastes sour or bitter now tastes sweet! A miracle? Maybe. Something like turning water into wine... People who have tried eating the miracle fruit seeds tells about how vinegar tasted sweet, how beer tasted like milkshake and how they without any problem or discomfort could eat lots of lemon! The miracle fruit seeds may not only be fun but also useful. In the future we may see planting fruit seeds from the miracle fruit come to use for example in patients with cancer eating miracle fruits seeds to get rid of the metallic taste that every kind of food gets after kemo therapy.
When you buy edible miracle fruit seeds on the Internet or in shops, you don't get an actual fruit but a tablet with the ground extract from the miracle fruit seeds. The tablets are usually small and have a pinkish color and tastes like rosehip. You get the tablets on charts in a yellow or green package. “Taste tripping” is the latest trend in New York and San Francisco (and will probably soon spread all over the world). In taste tripping the participants get a tablet made of ground miracle fruit seeds and then revel in a buffet of different kinds of normally very sour or other ways unpleasant things; lemon, garlic, tabasco. The buffet can also include food like tomato, fruits, fish and everything you can think of! The imagination is the only limit. You may want to be careful; only because something tastes sweet or okay in your mouth, it may give you a burning feeling in the throat! The tongue is the area which is strongly affected by the miracle fruit seeds. Kids loves this, but don't be too experimental; they'll be amazed only by how different an apple tastes! No need to take any risks...
In previous articles I've discussed some common circumstances when it comes to planting fruit seeds. Planting miracle fruit seeds isn't that different from planting any other kind of fruit seeds, you don't need a miracle method to get miracle fruit! First you have to germinate the miracle seeds. The miracle fruit seeds requires an acidic environment with a pH value between 4,5 and 5,8. this is very important; alkaline soil will badly damage the seeds and may even be harmful to a full grown plant. To achieve the acidic environment you can use peat moss and perlite and mix this with the soil. Fill a pot with well drained soil with the right pH and put the miracle fruit seeds in. Then cover them with a thin layer of soil. A small greenhouse or a simple plastic bag or bottle will increase and make the humidity stable. Some people mean that the seeds will germinate faster and better if you soak them in water for some hours or over the night before putting them into the soil. The amount of seeds that will actually germinate isn't very big so start with many seeds and be prepared that maybe only a few of them will turn out to be something that can grow further. After some weeks the seeds should have germinated and gotten sprouts. When you get a plant that is some decimeters high, you can begin to expect it to fruit. Though, to get a plant that high usually takes at least one or two years. Planting fruit seeds from the miracle fruit will finally result in a berry that will revolutionize your senses! Get on the latest trend and start planting fruit seeds from the miracle fruit!

Grow avocado seed
Do you want to try to grow avocado seeds when planting fruit seeds (yes, avocado is a fruit)? Congratulations! To grow avocado seeds is really easy since the actual seed is so large, there is much more work with, for example, grape seeds. The avocado seed needs sometimes a rather long time to sprout, but when it's germinated you've come a long way and beyond the first crucial step. Many people who grow avocado seed make the mistake of throwing them away because they “never” sprout. It's true that it takes time but if you're patient, you'll be rewarded! The best is if you can just forget that you've planted the avocado seed, and when you eventually remembers, maybe you'll be surprised by a little sprout. Though, some water from time to time can be good... I've divided this article on how to grow avocado seed into sections and steps of instructions. First you can read about what preparations you need to do before growing avocado seeds, then about the actual planting procedure, where to place the pot, how to prune your avocado plant and then some general tips on growing avocado seeds. Grow avocado seeds and good luck!
Preparations to grow avocado seed
When you've enjoyed a guacamole or some other course with avocado, save the seeds and test growing avocado seeds! The first thing you do to the avocado seed (or seeds; the more you plant, the bigger chance you'll get a plat) is to wash away all the flesh. This can be slippery but if you carefully use a bath sponge it'll be easier. Put the seeds on a piece of tissue paper and let them dry for around a day. Many people experience that the germinating and growing process will speed up if you've pre-germinated the seeds. This is done by putting the seed in a glass of water for some weeks until it cracks. Another method is to put four tooth picks at right angles around the waist of the seed and hang it on the edge of the glass of water. The seed should be halfway in the water. The third way to speed up the sprouting is to cut a gash at either end of the seed. If you use one of the water -methods; wait till the sprout and roots grow out and then grow the avocado seed (see below).
Planting avocado seed
When planting the avocado seed; use a clay pot with a layer of clay particles at the bottom. This will ensure a good soil humidity and drainage. Fill the pot with slightly humid planting soil. There shall be some space between the soil and the edge of the pot, but remember that the soil mass will shrink when you water it. Put the avocado seed to grow in the soil so that 1 centimeter of the seed, the pointed end, is above the soil. Water the seed and soil. Put a plastic bag or a piece of plastic foil which you've pierced a few holes for air in over the pot. This will work the same way as a greenhouse; keep the humidity even and the seed won't rot. When you get a sprout you can take the plastic away. You can also use a bottle made of rather soft plastic (like a 2 liters coke bottle) and cut it in two parts. Place the half bottles over your pots. You'll probably have to wait several weeks before something happens after growing the avocado seed.
Place the pot with the avocado seed
Place the pot with the planted avocado seed in a light place, preferably near a window. If you have a bright lamp or a spotlight, place the pot near this to take advantage of the extra light. As I've said, the sprouting will take time so be patient. When, after some years, you've got a big avocado plant, be careful not to place this in direct sunlight during the summer. This may hurt the plant and dry out the leaves.
Pruning the avocado plant
When your avocado seedling has gotten some real leaves except from the cotyledon, you have to decide what form you want your avocado plant to have. If you want a bush, prune it (though it's hard and you want to keep every part of it!) so it can divide into branches. Then you keep pruning every branch which in turn divides into two new branches. It's important to prune the top shoot repeatedly if you want a bush; this is the part of the plant which prevents the stems ability to grow side shoots. This is achieved through so called “apical dominance”; the secreting of chemical substances. On the other hand, if you want an avocado tree; let the sprout grow until it reaches half a meter, then you prune it. Let the tree crown develop but cut off all sprouts from the stem. The best time for pruning is in the spring when the light comes back and the plant gets more power to grow after the rest during the winter.
General tips on how to grow avocado seed
The same obvious rule for planting fruit seeds can be applied on avocado seeds; if an avocado plant gets on well, it will grow fast. This means that you have to change to a bigger pot as the plant gets bigger. Fertilize it once a week during the summer, water it regularly and shower it now and then. It's a hardy plant but still you have to take care of it!

During the summer time you will find stores filled with different kinds of peaches and nectarines; they are really popular. That is perhaps thanks to their their flesh which is at the same time sweet and juicy and fresh and quenches your throat. Succeeding in growing peach trees in your own garden will enable you to pick your own fruit directly from a branch filled with dewy leaves. Doesn't that sounds tempting? But the way from planting fruit seeds of peaches to growing peach trees may be long and difficult. There are a lot of things to think about when growing peach trees and if you're not careful and treat your plant gently, it may die from various causes. In this article you will learn about where peach trees originally came from, why we call them peach trees, how the different types look like and where in the world they are cultivated. But most important; you will read about planting fruit seeds of peaches and growing peach trees on your own. How do you actually do it and what is there to think about? But first a historical perspective. Enjoy and learn about growing peach trees!Growing peach trees result (hopefully) in peach fruits. These are delicate edible fruits whit flesh in a white or yellow color. The flesh can have a varying degree of firmness and also acidity; the white colored is low-acid (Asia prefers growing peach trees with this quality) and the yellow more acid (common when growing peach trees in Europe and America). The skin of the peach fruit feels like velvet while it is smooth on the nectarine fruit, both fruits have skins shifting in red, yellow and orange. Peach trees consists of the root system, trunk, branches, leaves, flowers and then fruits. The lancelot formed leaves are some decimeter long and some inch wide. In springtime, before the leaves come, the peach tree will bear pink flowers with five petals. The peach fruit has one oval seed which looks like an almond. This seed is protected by a brown hard covering. The peach is a stone fruit along with apricots, cherries, plums and some other fruits. These can be clingstones or freestones. The first category the flesh is fastened to the seed while in the other there is some space between the seed and the flesh. Planting fruit seeds includes planting peach seeds. You put the actual seed, the one inside the wood-like core, in soil of good quality. You'll have to wait several months after planting fruit seeds from peaches before you see a sprout, but it's worth the wait! When the plant is some decimeters high it's time to plant it in your garden.
When growing peach trees you want to make sure to get the right sort of fruit tree. The Latin name of peach tree is Prunis persica. It has been called persica, pessica and pesca. The english name is peach, the French is pêche and the Swedish persika. It belong to the family Rosaceae and the subfamily Prunoideae. It was long believed that the peach originated from Persia, therefore the name, but today the most widespread theory is that growing peach trees occurred in China and that the fruits were brought to Persia and other countries via the Silk Road a long time ago. So different people as Chinese emperors and romans to American Indians and the American president Thomas Jefferson have favored the peach fruits which has always been treated as a rare and expensive delicacy. The way between countries of the peach from origin is thus: China, Persia, Rome Empire, Spanish, America, England, France and from there it spread further over the world. In USA the first documents on growing peach trees says that in the beginning of the 1600's peaches were planted in Buckland in Virginia. It would take almost two hundred years until growing peach trees became commercial. In USA California, Georgia and South Carolina is the major producers of peaches while in the rest of the world for example China, Greece and India use big areas for growing peach trees.
When growing peach trees you have to consider what requirements the different cultivars have. You would think; the warmer the better, but the peach trees actually need a period of cold weather before blossoming but they won't survive to low temperatures. This is why you won't succeeding in growing peach trees either in tropical or arctic climates. You also have to know about the fact that the tree, the flower buds and the fruits don't have the same sensitivity to cold weather. Growing peach trees in temperatures as low as -25°C or more will go well, but the flower buds will die at -20°C. Some peach tree cultivars are more hardy and tolerant than others but you would want to have a marginal for safety reasons. The temperature during the summer must reach 20-30°C in order for the tree to mature fruits. Spring frost is a big issue in growing peach trees. Because the flowers come early before the summer and before the leaves, the temperature has to be gentle. Spring frost below - 4°C may kill the flowers. The more open the flowers has become, the more tender they are. The tree can also get diseases like fungus. If you buy your peach tree instead of planting fruit seeds from peaches, make sure it looks healthy with fresh green leaves. If your tree gets a disease you can get help at a nursery.
What to think about when growing peach trees: Climate, location and planting conditions. Oceanic climate won't fit growing peach trees. Your peach tree has to be sheltered and protected from wind. Growing peach trees will get the best result if you plant the tree at a wall facing south of your house; this will enable your tree to get the most sun light and heat. You should dig the hole some months before you plant the peach tree and fill it wit compost meanwhile. The soil must have a good drainage. The depth of the hole should be about 1 meter, the width almost 2 meters and the length 1 meter. The hole should be placed some decimeters from the house wall and it's good if you can attach some wires to the tree from the wall to make the tree steady. In October you plant your tree, make sure the roots are spread in the hole. When growing peach trees in small gardens, you can use dwarf variants. These only get 2-4 meters high but the fruits have the same size as a tree of normal hight. If you're not primarily interested in harvesting fruits, you can still grow peach threes; buy an ornamental flowering peach tree which don't get fruits. This is a great way of decorating your garden, maybe along with one of all the garden water fountains available.
After while after growing peach trees, when buds start to appear on your peach tree, you have to trim them in order to get a well-formed tree. The branches has to be cut as well. If you don't know how to do this, contact a nursery. It will take up to three years before you get your first fruit after becoming active in growing peach trees. The fruit will come in May and you can harvest it some months later. The fruit requires much sunlight to mature. Planting fruit seeds from peaches and growing peach trees is a fun challenge that may result in actual golden, tasty peaches!

Planting Fruit Seeds
Planting fruit seeds is a fun activity for adults as well as for children. It may even result in a lasting seedling or tree which you can plant in your garden and enjoy for years. If you get really sucessful, you may be able to start you own garden with plants you've grown from your own fruit seeds. Maybe you can start a business by selling seeds, plants or even flowers! For example, many companies are sending flowers abroad and you can try to contact these to see if they're interested in your exotic plants! But there is no guarantee that planting fruit seeds will result in a growing plant and actually bear fruit but even if it doesn't, you'll at least have spent time on an exciting project with preparations and different steps of development. If you like gardening this is a perfect hobby! If you're successful, you may even get a plant that fruits and this way you'll get more fruit seeds to grow. This is also an opportunity to make money as you can sell unusual and rare fruit seeds.
The process of planting fruit seeds doesn't have to be complicated but the more careful you are when doing it, the better results you'll get. Before planting fruit seeds you need to know about what climate the fruit bushes or trees usually grow in. Which are the differences compared to the climate you live in? Do you need to grow the seeds in a greenhouse or will the adjust to the specific conditions in your climate? There are a lot of questions to be answered about planting fruit seeds and I will do my best to try to give you all the useful information you need for planting fruit seeds. You can try planting fruit seeds from all kinds of fruits and berries you can think of, the more you experiment the more you'll know about what works and what is more difficult. If you succeed in growing a seed into a plant and it not bear any fruit, maybe you'll be lucky to see some beautiful flowers with pleasant fragrance on it instead. Planting fruit seeds from lemon or other citrus fruits use to give a multitude of flowers in different whitish and yellowish shades.
There's no real rule telling which fruit trees should be grown where and in these days of climate changes the common and usual in the world of planting fruit seeds is changing. When planting fruit seeds from citrus fruits and many other kinds the climate must be frost free but not as hot as their usual, maybe exotic, climates. You don't have to stop at planting fruit seeds, some vegetables are also easy to grow. As for myself, besides planting fruit seeds, I grew seeds from paprikas and it resulted in some decimeter hight plants. They got really nice white and blue flowers and then small fruits. Unfortunately they died before the fruits had grown bigger than some centimeter but know that I know it works I'm going to try it again. There is no way of knowing exactly what the full grown plant will look like and this is part of the fun I think. You can't expect to get an exact copy of the parent plant because that's not the way planting fruit seeds work. But that's the charm of planting fruit seeds! If you don't want to use seeds directly from fruits you buy, you can purchase fruit seeds from a garden shop instead. In stores where you can buy gardening equipment you can often find seeds for planting.
